The hotel’s name, D.O.M – Deo Optimo Maximo, harks back to history as well as expressing an aspiration: to transform a storied architectural space, while celebrating and protecting its original features. The street on which the ancient monastery converted into today’s 5-star hotel stands, Via Giulia, dates back to 1600 and is situated in Regola, the seventh ‘rione’ or district in Ancient Rome. Architect Antonio Girardi was in charge of the entire renovation project, creating an intimate and inviting hideaway that makes you feel instinctively at home in Rome. The hotel has 18 rooms and suites divided into four categories, plus the unique D.O.M Suite, which has a private roof garden overlooking the Dome of St. Peter’s Basilica. Enoteca al Parlamento, the Michelin-starred restaurant, with its historic wine cellar located on Rome’s Via dei Prefetti for over 50 years, brings its distinction and quality to D.O.M Hotel in Rome with the restaurant named ACHILLI al D.O.M, the new hub for the gastronomy research and culture of wine. During the summer season, the ACHILLI al D.O.M will move up to the rooftop terrace of the hotel. The typically Roman scented aromatic herb garden with its view of the Tiber river and Gianicolo hill, looks over the Roman rooftops and bell towers of the old town. This private oasis is the perfect ambiance where the Chefs will entertain Guests with cocktails, raw foods and fresh proposals.
