Discover the fascinating world between the blue mountains of the Mediterranean and
the gold of the Sahara. Travel by 4x4 jeep across the desert sand dunes to abandoned
Berber villages and mystical oases. Explore ancient ruins, capture spectacular landscapes and indulge by the sea making this all an unforgettable adventure. Then soak up the sun at the Mediterranean resort of Hammamet.

Day 1 - Tunis
Upon arrival transfer to your seaside hotel in Gammarth. D

Day 2 - Tunis/Carthage/Sidi Bou Said/Hammamet
After breakfast, discover cosmopolitan Tunis. In the afternoon wander about
the charming artists’ village of Sidi Bou Said and visit the remarkable Roman ruins of Carthage. Continue on to the resort town of Hammamet for the night. B D

Day 3 - Hammamet/Kairouan/ Sefutela/Gafsa/Tozeur
Your jeep safari begins. Journey to the Holy City of Kairouan, famed for its tradition of carpet weaving. Continue on to the ancient town of Sefutela for a brief visit to marvel at the Roman Forum. Then onward to the beautiful oasis city of Tozeur via Gafsa. B D

Day 4 - Tozeur/Chebika/ Tamerza/Mides/ Tozeur
Revel in the impressive landscapes as you make your way along the major stopping
points of the caravan routes which linked the east and west coasts of Africa. Be dazzled by the glorious mountain oases of Chebika with its spectacular red canyons, the abandoned Berber settlement of Mides, perched on the edge of a deep gorge, and Tamerza, “the balcony overlooking the Sahara”. B D

Day 5 - Tozeur/Chott El Jerid
A fascinating drive today takes you across the shores of Chott El Jerid, a vast glittering salt lake featured in scenes from “The English Patient”. Arrive in the oasis town of Douz and venture into the Sahara for an unforgettable camel trek among dramatic sand dunes before visiting the traditional nomadic centres of Zaafrane and El Fouar. B D

Day 6 - Douz/Ksar Ghilaine
Cross a desert chain of golden sands from Douz to reach the mystical oasis of Ksar Ghilaine. Enjoy the afternoon at your leisure, before retiring for the evening in a tented camp at Pansea. B D

Day 7 - Ksar Ghilaine/Tataouine/ Medenine/Matmata
Explore the abandoned settlement of Tataouine and the surrounding “ksour”, the fascinating fortified villages built by the Berbers. Admire more spectacular panoramas this afternoon, ending the day in Matmata with its fascinating traditional underground
cave dwellings. B D

Day 8 - Matmata/Gabes/El Jem/Hammamet
Today drive north along the coast to explore the magnificent Roman amphitheatre at El Jem. Return to the delightful seaside resort town of Hammamet to end the day.

Day 9/10/11 - Hammamet
A perfect ending to an exhilarating adventure. Relax with 3 blissful days in Hammamet. Take advantage of the excellent golf courses, pamper yourself with a thalassotherapy treatment at one of the many luxurious spas or just lounge by the sea savouring the sweet exotic fragrance of jasmine that permeates the night air.

Day 12 - Hammamet/Tunis
Transfer to the Tunis airport for your departure. B
