 Wine and Gastronomy in Portugal

Day 1 & 2 - Algarve
Upon arrival at the Faro airport pick up your rental car and drive to your hotel in Albufeira. Here you will enjoy the beautiful sandy beaches and explore charming fishing villages. During your stay here, visit Cliff Richard’s wine cellars!

Day 3 & 4 - Evora
Drive across the world’s largest cork region for an exciting journey into the past and arrive at the ancient walled city of Evora, one of the loveliest towns of southern Europe. While in Evora discover the very popular wines of the Alentejo region and visit the sophisticated wine cellars at Herdade do Esporao for a tasting. Suggest you also visit nearby Estremoz surrounded by 17th century fortifications and noted for it’s stunning earthenware. Accommodation for 2 nights at a charming hotel within Evora’s 14th century walls.

Day 5 & 6 - Coimbra
Continue driving north to Coimbra. Accommodation at Grande Hotel da Curia Golf &
Spa, hidden in lush greenery and featuring a fully equipped health centre. During your stay you will visit the wine cellars of Caves Alianca for a visit and tasting. Or choose to stay in Lisbon exploring the sites of this grand city, visiting its monuments and strolling through the winding streets of the Baixa and Alfama quarters.

Day 7 & 8 - Porto
The city that gave its name not only to Port wine but also to Portugal and its language is
perched on a rocky gorge overlooking the Douro River. Explore the port wine cellars, the marvelous bridges of the city and enjoy the medieval monuments.

Day 9 - Departure
Depart from Porto or continue on to spend a few days in Lisbon.
