Paris & the Loire Valley: A French Escape

Day 1 - Paris
Arrive at your hotel in the historic city centre; choose the bohemian Left Bank or the elegant Right Bank.

Day 2 - Monuments of Paris
This morning’s small group minibus tour introduces the main sites of the city.

Day 3 - Paris at leisure
A full day to explore your Paris. Choose a guided tour of the Louvre Museum or an excursion to Versailles.

Day 4 - Blois, Amboise
Pick up your rental car and travel into Chateaux Country. The gateway to these marvels is at Blois where the chateau is like an illustrated storybook of French architecture.
At Amboise you will discover a real Renaissance town and a magnificent 15th century
chateau.

Day 5 - Azay le Rideau, Villandry
The magnificent chateau of Azay le Rideau is possibly the most perfect Renaissance chateau in France. Don’t miss the grand bedrooms! The extravagant 16th century gardens at Villandry are a delight-over 12 km of boxwood sculpture alone!

Day 6 - Cheverny
Unlike many chateaux in the Loire, Cheverny is still occupied by its owners who open some of their sumptuous rooms for the public. Admire the antique furnishings, tapestries, decorations and objets d’arts. This is how the French live….

Day 7 - Paris
Return to Paris and spend the afternoon strolling along the banks of the Seine.

Day 8 - Departure
Depart from Paris Airport or consider traveling south to Provence…..
