 Wine and Gastronomy in Portugal
 9 days / 8 nights

Discover the charm of Portugal's historical towns and fishing villages, the hospitality of
the local people, as well as the delights of the Portuguese cuisine and the fine tastes of
their renowned wines.

Day 1, 2 & 3-Algarve
Upon arrival at the Faro airport pick up your rental car and drive to your hotel in Albufeira. Here you will enjoy the beautiful sandy beaches and explore charming fishing villages. During your stay here, visit Cliff Richard’s wine cellars!

Day 4 & 5-Evora
Drive across the world’s largest cork region for an exciting journey into the past and arrive at ancient walled city of Evora, one of the loveliest towns of southern Europe and once the residence of Portuguese kings. While in Evora discover the very popular wines of the Alentejo region and visit the sophisticated wine cellars at Herdade do Esporao for a tasting. Suggest you also visit nearby Estremoz surrounded by 17th century fortifications and noted for it’s stunning earthenware. Accommodation for 2 nights at a charming hotel within Evora’s 14th century walls.

Day 6, 7 & 8-Lisbon
Continue driving north to the exciting capital city Lisbon. The hills rising from the broad Tagus River stacked with tile-roofed houses and pastel palaces like a child’s village of blocks, form a natural setting for a city of unusual character and charm. Spend 3 wonderful days in this exciting city, explore Lisbon with a pleasant walk in the historic city centre. Don’t miss the Belem Tower, the Monument to the Discoveries and the impressive Monastery of Jerónimos. These monuments represent the "Golden Age" of the Portuguese Discoveries, which began in the 15th century.

Day 9-Departure
Self transfer to the Lisbon Airport for your return flight home. Optional extensions available in Porto or Coimbra.
