Tuscany & Umbria: The Heart of Italy
 8 days / 7 nights
Day 1-Tuscany
Pick up your rental car in Florence and immerse yourself in the Tuscan countryside. Arrive at your hotel in the Chianti hill town of Radda, a delightful small town with ancient palaces lining the cobble stoned main street and views over the vineyard-covered countryside.

Day 2-Siena
Suggest you explore the most beautiful hill town in Italy. Visit the splendid Cathedral, the Piazza del Campo and stroll the serpentine streets laid out over the hills of the city.

Day 3-Chianti
Return home with more than just pictures! We suggest you enjoy a hands-on cooking
class preparing a full menu and enjoy the fruits of your labour over lunch. Or spend the day touring the hill towns and visiting the ‘medieval Manhattan’ of San Gimignano. Enjoy a wine tasting at a nearby wine producing estate.

Day 4-Crete Senese / Montalcino
Suggest you drive through the ‘Crete Senese’ the valley of chalk hills covered with olive groves and dotted with cypress trees and stone farmhouses. Visit the Abbey of Monte Oliveto Maggiore, the fortified wine village of Montalcino and the nearby Abbey of Sant Antimo.

Day 5-Cortona / Assisi
Motor through the countryside visiting the charming medieval hill towns of Cortona and Assisi. The end of the day brings you to your hotel in central Umbria.

Day 6-Perugia / Torgiano
Suggest a visit of Perugia to stroll along the Corso Vanucci admiring medieval palaces and enjoying a stop at one of the numerous cafés offering their famous Perugina
chocolate. Then to Torgiano to visit the Lungarotti Wine Museum and Olive Oil Museum.

Day 7-Montefalco / Spoleto
In Montefalco visit the town’s museum and shop for linen, a traditional handicraft. Visit an ancient olive oil mill for a tour and a light lunch of local specialties selected to match the mill’s oil. Continue this afternoon to visit Spoleto and enjoy strolling in the elegant city centre.

Day 8-Departure
Your stay in the heart of Italy concludes after breakfast this morning. Drive to the airport or extend your stay in Italy-our ‘Portofino and the Cinqueterre’ itinerary is the perfect
complement.
